The City of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the launch of a new “Virtual/Home Recreation” section within the department’s website. Content includes a variety of recreational activities that people can do at home or in their own neighborhood while practicing safe social distancing.
“Although the recreation centers are currently closed, staff has been busy developing fun and safe alternatives the public can try at home,” said Parks and Recreation Director Kerry Runyon. “We’re pleased with how quickly the effort came together and hope people in the community will take advantage of this resource to find out about new ways they can engage in recreation at home.”
To access the new web pages, please visit www.CapeParks.com and click on “Virtual/Home Recreation” or “Recreation at Home.” The public can also get regular department updates and participate in virtual activities on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/CapeCoralParks
The new web pages are broken into five special interest categories including: Arts, Fitness, Nature, Puzzles/Games, and Youth/Family. Those who participate in virtual activities are being encouraged to share photos using the hashtag #CCVirtualRec.
