Free Event to Feature Grant Renovations, Studio Demos and Exhibit Openings
For the first time in history, the Cape Coral Arts Studio is hosting a free Open Studio during its October exhibit reception on Friday, October 11 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the newly renovated facility, with upgrades made possible thanks to a grant from the Department of State’s Diviso
During the Open Studio, participants will have a chance to view two new gallery exhibitions including “Pictorial Conversations-Opus 1,” featuring artists from Artsemble Underground, which will be on display in the Main Gallery and “Abstracted Reality,” which will be on display in the Side Gallery.
A string trio from the Southwest Florida Symphony will be serenading guests as they view the exhibitions and Eight Foot Brewing will be on site offering complimentary tastings of their delicious craft brews. Furthermore, the studios will be open with instructors demonstrating a variety of exciting fine art and fine craft techniques. This event is free and open to the public.
“We are extremely pleased with the recent renovations at the Arts Studio,” said Kerry Runyon, Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Director. “Friday’s Open Studio is the perfect time for the public to come out and see the changes first hand and celebrate the arts and cultural opportunities available in Cape Coral.”
Julie Gerhard, Arts Studio Supervisor, added, “We’re looking forward to this event that will bring people in the community together to tour the studios, meet artists and staff, and enjoy a fun evening of art. There are so many new classes and opportunities to get involved and this is a great way for the public to get inspired and connect with their creativity!”
