Hometown Hero Caira Everly

Caira Danielle Everly was born and raised in Cape Coral. After starting college at the former Edison College (now FSW), she transferred to and graduated from the University of Florida.

Born into a family dedicated to public service, Caira started early. While in Gainesville, she worked as the only civilian on the University of Florida Collegiate Veterans Society Leadership Board. She was also appointed by the Dean as the Transfer Student Liaison for the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Caira worked closely with the Dean on forming a program for transfer students.

She also served on the US Department of Defense and Public Defenders Homicide Division while in college. But she did manage to have some fun, too, as an alumnus of the Phi Mu sorority.

After college, Caira worked for Tyco International in Federal security contracting sales in Virginia. She then went on to work for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement where she worked as a crime intelligence analyst in various violent crime units.

It was only a matter of time before Caira ended up with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. She is the third generation of Everly’s to be a part of the team, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather. She currently works with LCSO as a Criminal Investigative Assistant in Major Crimes.

A vocalist since 16, Caira has sung at Veterans events throughout the state of Florida, community events and SEC sporting events. She opened for Nashville recording artist John Anderson and Craig Morgan and the Cape Coral CoConut Festival, as well.

Caira has 2 rescue pets. And she just adopted a Siberian Tiger named Delilah from Lions, Tigers and Bears Sanctuary our of Arcadia, FL. How cool is that?

Her favorite thing to do in the Cape is boating with family. Caira enjoys reading, running and volunteering for her community. She’s actively involved with many community and political organizations. Some would say it’s in her blood. Caira has been a community and political volunteer for over 10 years, starting in Florida, then later Virginia, and now back in Florida again.

Thank you, Caira, for serving your community from an early age. With a lifetime ahead of you, your accomplishments will continue to mount. You are doing the name Everly, and your community, proud! You are a Hometown Hero!
