Chief Tony Sizemore welcomed a joyous crowd to the Cape Coral Police Department to welcome five new officers to the Cape Coral Police Department family, as well as to recognize the promotion of five to higher ranks. Mayor John Gunter and City Manager Rob Hernandez attended, as well as dozens of agency members and family of those being recognized.

- Darren McKenna to Deputy Chief of Police (previously Interim Deputy Chief)
- John Lanza to Captain
- Jennifer Matlock to Lieutenant
- Ryan Tronchet to Sergeant
- Jackie Fordham to Forensics Supervisor
Five new officers were also sworn in by Chief Sizemore, all of them with prior law enforcement experience.
