CCPD Takes Part in Operation Safe Summer

The Cape Coral Police Department proudly participated in a multi-agency investigation which resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals involved in child pornography and using the internet to commit crimes against children.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement held a press conference that included the Charlotte, Collier and Lee County Sheriff’s offices, Cape Coral PD, Fort Myers PD, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Officials announced the arrests of 15 people in Operation Safe Summer charged with child pornography crimes that included possession, distribution, molestation, sexual battery and failure to report child abuse. Two children were rescued from child abuse and dozens of others were identified by the investigators.
