City Asks Residents to Adjust Irrigation Zones for Bus Stop Safety

The City of Cape Coral is asking some property owners to consider adjusting their irrigation zones for the safety of children at school bus stops.

If a school bus stop is located on/adjacent to your property, and your sprinklers are preventing students from standing a safe distance from the street, they ask that you rotate your irrigation zones to allow children to stand in the grass while waiting for the bus.

The last day of school for Lee County School District and Cape Coral Charter School Authority students is May 30.

Please remember, setting automatic timers to water 20-30 minutes in each zone should provide adequate irrigation for residential lawns this time of year. Residents who need help adjusting their irrigation zones can call 3-1-1 and the City can provide assistance.
