UPDATE: Guilty Verdict for Driver Responsible for Fatal Thanksgiving 2017 Crash

The driver responsible for a Thanksgiving Day 2017 crash that took the life of a young woman has been found guilty by a Lee County court.

Kenneth Graves (DOB: 2-24-81) was found guilty of vehicular homicide after his reckless driving on November 23, 2017 caused a serious crash that killed 32 year old Kennya L. Gonzalez Ojeda. Graves has a scheduled sentencing date of August 12th.

“The Cape Coral Police Department is glad to hear that justice has been served in this case for Kennya L. Gonzalez Ojeda and her family. Mr. Graves’ actions on that day had deadly consequences, and a jury of his peers have handed Mr. Graves his own consequences with this guilty verdict. We are extremely thankful for the work done by our Traffic Unit Major Crash Investigation officers to help secure this conviction and for our partners in the State Attorney’s Office who prosecuted this case.” ~ Master Corporal Phil Mullen, Public Affairs Office
