On June 18th, 2019, around 5:49 p.m., Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service at 1860 Ne Pine Island Rd. (AT&T) in reference to retail theft.
The Manager stated three black males entered the store and took numerous devices and left on foot.
Officers arrived on scene and noticed an Apple display stand that was damaged while the theft occurred.. The manager explained the suspects attempted a distraction by asking about information regarding Apple Air pods when the other two males went to the Apple display stand. One of the males stacked up three iPads on top of one another and ripped them out of the display while the other began to rip the three iPhones out of the display simultaneously.
The male who was in charge of distracting the Manager was described as wearing a long black shirt with grey sweatpants, he saw an iPhone fall to the ground and retrieved it as well. All three suspects ran on foot out of the store.
The suspects in questions stole the following items which are valued at approximately $5,500:
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XR
- iPad 9.7in
- iPad Air 11in
- iPad Pro 12.9in
The suspects caused property damages to the Apple display totaling approximately $1,000.00 in damages.
Detective Costa of the Property Crimes Unit was assigned the case and is investigating.
