The Cape Coral Police Department is partnering with Walmart for the seventh year in a row to host the ‘Holiday Heroes Food Drive.’ The food drive benefits the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.
There are many Cape Coral residents that rely on the Harry Chapin Food Bank for food every day. Many of those who receive help from the Harry Chapin are families with children.
Last year, the Cape Coral Police Department collected nearly 8 TONS of food! We would like to match that total this year or even beat it. This year’s ‘Holiday Heroes Food Drive’ will be held on Tuesday, November 13th, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, to ensure that the food bank receives plenty of food donations prior to Thanksgiving.
Members of the Cape Coral Police Department will be at the Walmart Supercenter located at 1619 Del Prado Boulevard, as well as the Walmart Neighborhood Market located at 505 SW Pine Island Road. Members of the community can meet and greet with those who serve and protect our city. This is a great opportunity for kids to interact with Police Officers in a positive setting.
