Wednesday Warrants: CCPD Nabs Two Out-of-Town Fugitives Facing Serious Crimes

The Cape Coral Police Department apprehended two fugitives in separate incidents yesterday, one wanted for murder out of Florida and the other wanted for sexual battery out of Michigan.

In the first, the Cape Coral Police Department’s Special Response Team served an out of county warrant and search warrant at the 1000 block of SE 39th Terrace and took Charles Robinson (DOB: 8-22-87) into custody. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit arrested Robinson for a Palm Beach County warrant on the charges of murder, robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and other weapons charges. Click here for the backstory on Robinson’s crimes.

In the second apprehension, a Cape Coral Police Department Marine Unit made a vessel stop for a boating violation in the area of 5819 Driftwood Parkway (Cape Coral Yacht Club). The Marine officer discovered that John Evans (DOB: 9-29-53) had an out of state fugitive warrant out of Michigan for sexual battery. Evans was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.
