The Southwest Florida community is invited to breakfast at Mel’s Diner on Friday, Nov. 10 from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to help kick off the 16th Annual Helping Kids with Cancer Radiothon. Stop in during the event, make a donation of $5 or more to Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund, and receive a breakfast on the house. Breakfast includes two eggs, two pancakes, two pieces of bacon and a coffee or small juice.
Mel’s Diner will be accepting donations now through Jan. 12 at restaurants located in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Naples and Golden Gate. On this day of giving, Jan. 12, tune into Cat Country 107.1 FM from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Helping Kids with Cancer Radiothon and make a pledge to support child patients treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

For more than 20 years, Barbara’s Friends has provided funds for equipment, staffing and services that support lifesaving cancer care for children from across Southwest Florida at Golisano Children’s Hospital. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program is the only program of its kind in Southwest Florida.. No child is denied treatment or turned away as a result of their family’s inability to pay for care.
