A major hiring effort is underway to staff Farmer Joe’s Fresh Market, targeted to open in December on Pine Island Road. 

The owners are seeking 450 employees for the nearly-completed, 55,000 square-foot grocery store. 

“This is going to be the Disneyland of supermarkets,” says Lee Snyder, owner of Farmer Joe’s, which will heavily focus on massive departments on the store’s perimeter. “Our produce department alone is 13,000 square feet.” 

The store has hired as many as 150 people so far, but it needs three times that many. Snyder has sponsored job fairs, commercials, and billboards in an effort to communicate that Farmer Joe’s is hiring.
