The City is partnering with Lee County’s Solid Waste Division to offer Cape Coral residents a safe and responsible way to dispose of household chemical waste (HCW).
This event will be on Saturday, May 1 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard (City Hall parking lot).
The event will be held in conjunction with Waste Pro’s collection of trash, horticulture, and bulk items at the same location.
Items that will be accepted for disposal include:
- Drain cleaners
- Pool chemicals
- Pesticides/herbicides
- Liquid paint and thinners
- Polishes and strippers
- Fluorescent tubes
- Electronics
- Car and boat batteries
- Auto oil
- Gas propane tanks
- Appliances
- Mattresses
- Yard Waste
Lee County’s Solid Waste Division offers household chemical waste collection in Cape Coral every quarter. The County’s HCW and electronics recycling facility is located in Fort Myers (6441 Topaz Court) and is open Mondays through Fridays, and the first Saturday of each month.
All visitors are encouraged to wear facemasks and remain in their vehicles at all times to comply with social distancing requirements.
Materials for drop-off will be collected from trunks of vehicles and the beds of trucks.
Proof of residency is required to drop off items. Proof of residency may include photo identification with a Cape Coral address or photo identification and a utility bill, with an active Cape Coral utility account.
