Due to the overwhelming demand for low-cost veterinary care, the Cape Coral Animal Shelter has opened it clinic SIX days a week effective immediately.
Located at 324 SW 2nd Avenue, the hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. They are closed Sunday. Appointments can be made by calling 239-573-2002, Extension 106.
To support the lifesaving work of the shelter and to provide a much-needed service to our community, CCAS opened its low-cost, state of the art veterinary clinic in August. The response was overwhelming and with the pandemic still in full swing, gearing up to meet the demand was not without challenges.
“It took us a while to get all the people and systems in place” said Executive Director, Liz McCauley. “We are still receiving hundreds of calls a week, but we have added additional administrative and veterinary staff to handle the demand. We’re ready to go full steam ahead six days a week!”
“We believe now more than ever people need a low-cost alternative to keep their pets healthy, happy, and out of the shelter. Our services include vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, illnesses and wellness visits, dental procedures, and the sale of flea and heartworm preventative and prescription food. We also carry a private label line of skin care products for your pets.” said Melanie Waite, Director of Operations.
Dr. Kristie Welsh and Dr. Chad Weddell provide full service veterinary care to our clients and their pets. The clinic is not limited to low-income patients or patients from just Cape Coral. They can serve anyone who needs quality veterinary care. All revenue generated from the clinic supports the live-saving efforts of the shelter, which has done over 1,000 adoptions in less than one year of operation.
