City Manager Appoints Deputy Chief Anthony Sizemore as Interim Cape Coral Police Chief

City Manager Rob Hernandez has selected Deputy Police Chief Anthony “Tony” Sizemore to serve as Cape Coral’s interim Police Chief. Deputy Chief Tony Sizemore will replace Chief David Newlan, who announced his retirement, effective November 20.

“Tony brings expertise, enthusiasm, and his desire to collaborate with the community to the new role,” said Hernandez. “He will serve as Interim Police Chief as we conduct a national search for the best candidate to fill the position permanently.”

Deputy Chief Anthony Sizemore has over 24 years of law enforcement experience. During his career, he has served as the Bureau Commander for Patrol, Investigations, Professional Standards as well as the Public Affairs Office. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police leadership program.
