Lee County Transit will resume regular service of its fixed-route buses beginning Sunday, Oct. 11.
LeeTran also will reactivate two routes that have been inactive since March due to the pandemic: Route 80 serving the Edison Mall and Bell Tower Shops areas; and Route 160 serving Pine Island on Thursdays.
This is a final step in resuming services that the county had altered in response to COVID-19.
LeeTran resumed collection of fares on its fixed-route buses and ADA Passport services Sept. 8 and also began letting riders board at the front of the buses. The county has installed driver shields and customer-service safety barriers, resumed selling fare passes and reopened its Rosa Parks Transit Center and LeeTran headquarters.
