The following is an update on the major crimes investigations being conducted by the Cape Coral Police Department (suspicious death on 4800 Tudor Drive; the disappearance of Diane Ruiz).
The body of the woman located by Cape Coral Police on Thursday, October 10th, has been positively identified as Diane Ruiz. Next of kin has been notified. The manner of death has not yet been determined by the Lee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The identity of the person of interest in both cases can be confirmed as Wade Steven Wilson, W/M 05-20-94 of 11751 Oak Run Lane Fort Myers. Wilson remains in custody at the Lee County Jail on unrelated charges.
At this phase of the investigations, detectives are awaiting results from laboratory testing from the FDLE crime lab, awaiting conclusions from the Lee County Medical Examiner’s Office and working closely with our partners at the State Attorney’s Office to bring additional criminal charges against Wade Wilson.
