Afternoon Crash Yesterday Sends Four To The Hospital

Cape Coral Police are investigating a serious injury crash that sent four to the hospital.

On April 25, 2019, around 12:17 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service in reference to a two vehicle traffic crash at the 500 block of Hancock Bridge Pkwy.

Four occupants were hospitalized, one with life-threatening injuries.  A Major Crash Investigator, Victim Advocate, Forensics, and a Drug Recognition Expert responded to assist with this investigation. A Ping4alerts! was sent, warning drivers and residents of the traffic hazard.

This traffic crash is still under investigation.

DRIVER VEHICLE 1: Tiana Lassalle, W/F, 07/27/2000.

DRIVER VEHICLE 1 INJURIES: Lassalle suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.

PASSENGER VEHICLE 1: Walter Caboa, W/M, 11/08/1999.

PASSENGER VEHICLE 1: INJURIES: Caboa suffered serious injuries in the crash.

VEHICLE 2: Black, 2014, Dodge Journey, 4 Door SUV. 

DRIVER VEHICLE 2: Marli Sollitto, W/F, 11/03/1999.

DRIVER VEHICLE 2 INJURIES: Marli Sollitto suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

PASSENGER VEHICLE 2: A 17 year old female.

PASSENGER VEHICLE 2: INJURIES: Suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

SYNOPSIS:

Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound at the 500 block of Hancock Bridge Parkway E in the outside lane of travel. Vehicle 2 was traveling westbound at the 500 block of Hancock Bridge Parkway in the inside lane of travel, next to Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 veered to the left into the path of Vehicle 2. The driver side, rear quarter, of Vehicle 1 collided with the passenger side, front quarter, of Vehicle 2. The rear of Vehicle 1 began to rotate counterclockwise in front of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 and Vehicle 1 collided with the curb of the center median in a “T-bone” formation. 

The passenger side of Vehicle 1 struck two trees in the median; simultaneously, the front of Vehicle 2 collided with the driver side door of Vehicle 1. The passenger of Vehicle 1 was ejected and came to final rest on the shoulder south of the eastbound lanes of Hancock Bridge Pkwy E. Vehicle 1 climbed the felled trees allowing Vehicle 2 to continue westbound underneath Vehicle 1. The rear of Vehicle 1 came to a final rest positioned on top of the hood and driver compartment of Vehicle 2.

The driver of Vehicle 1 suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was trauma alerted to Lee Memorial Hospital. The passenger of Vehicle 1 suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. The driver and passenger of Vehicle 2 suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.

A Major Crash Investigator, Drug Recognition Expert, Forensics, and a Victim Advocate responded.

Alcohol/drugs MAY BE a factor in the traffic crash. Next-of-kin HAVE BEEN notified.
