A man was arrested after he was called in as suspicious and located by police with methamphetamines near a school.
On April 7, 2018 at approximately 7:30 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call at the 4500 block of SE 14th Avenue, not far from Cape Coral Elementary School. The vehicle was located and two men immediately jumped out of the vehicle to greet officers, appearing nervous. The man that vacated the driver’s seat was identified as Sean Russette (DOB: 9-9-93). During the course of speaking with the two men, officers could see a clear baggie with a white substance sitting on the driver’s seat in plain view through the vehicle window.
Both men were detained, and further investigation located a pipe on Russette’s person as well as syringes and scales with residue on them in the vehicle. The residue field tested positive for methamphetamine. Russette was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession and transportation of drug paraphernalia. Russette was transported to the Lee County Jail.
