Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 10 the City will be shutting off water for about 750 residences to make water main repairs. The shutoff is expected to last until about 6 p.m. Residents should fill containers with water for daily use, before the scheduled shutoff. The affected addresses that will be without water for the duration of the work are within the outlined area on the attached map.
The locations of utility work include:
- Del Prado Boulevard & NE 2nd Street
- Del Prado Boulevard & NE 2nd Terrace
- NE 3rd Terrace & NE 16th Place
Prior to the day of the scheduled shutdown: Residents in the vicinity may experience fluctuations in water pressures and water discoloration. As part of the repairs, City crews will be flushing multiple hydrants in the area. This ensures that water service is restored to this area as quickly as possible on the day of the shutdown.
Upon reinstatement of the water service: Residents still may notice a discoloration of water and crews will continue flushing fire hydrants in the area. Precautionary boil water signs will be placed at the entrances of these isolated areas, and residents will be notified of the precautionary boil water advisory via the electronic notification system. The system utilizes the contact information on file that is associated each utility account.
This advisory will remain in effect until the Lee County Health Department completes testing of water samples, which could take a few days. Upon receipt of clearance from the Health Department, the City will issue a rescind notification.
