Woman Arrested for Retail Grand Theft

A woman was arrested at a local retailer after being caught by the store’s loss prevention with a felony amount of stolen goods.

On January 13, 2018 at approximately 5 p.m. Cape Coral officers responded to Kohl’s Department Store located at 513 SW Pine Island Road. Loss prevention employees had stopped Liudeibys Jimenez Silva (DOB: 2-14-94) after she left the store with a large amount of stolen goods. They advised they had observed Jimenez Silva selecting several pieces of jewelry, clothing, and sandals which she then brought into both the fitting room and restroom, shedding tags from the items in both locations before concealing them in her purse. She then passed all points of sale and left the store before being stopped by the loss prevention employees. Officers arrived and placed Jimenez Silva under arrest for grand theft due to the theft amount being over $300 ($808.21). Jimenez Silva was transported to the Lee County Jail.
