A man was arrested for driving under the influence after speeding through a cul de sac and crashing into a home.
On December 10, 2017 at approximately 6:45 a.m. officers responded to a single vehicle crash at the 100 block of Eldorado Parkway West. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Jeffrey Simpson (DOB: 4-23-78).
After speaking with witnesses at the scene and investigating the traffic crash, it was determined that Simpson had been speeding on Eldorado Parkway and when the road ended was forced to turn into a driveway. Simpson’s vehicle struck a parked car and then struck the residence, hitting the garage.
In addition to the damage done to the parked car in the driveway and the garage itself, the impact with the garage caused a large tool chest to fall onto and damage an antique Corvette stored inside. Simpson then reversed and attempted to leave the crash scene before getting his vehicle stuck.
Further investigation determined Simpson was driving under the influence, and he was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail after receiving medical attention.
