Military Support Foundation, Inc.’s Fundraising Concert scheduled for Saturday, August 19th

Military Support Foundation, Inc. (MSF) will hold a fundraising concert on Saturday, August 19th from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Duffy’s Sports Grill, located at 627 Cape Coral Pkwy W.

Funds from this event benefit Fish With A Hero by Project Healing Waters (PHWFF), a unique, community-based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to the physical and psychological rehabilitation of injured active-duty military personnel and veterans with disabilities. This is accomplished through the therapeutic and rehabilitative benefits of fly fishing, patience and relationship-building. Whether wounded in combat, injured in vehicle or training accidents, or suffering debilitating illness, PHWFF serves all disabled veterans. Because of this, PHWFF is in a position to lead the way in helping today’s young disabled veterans throughout their lifetime.

Entertainment will be provided by Ben Allen Band starting at 7 p.m., and patrons who show a flyer, which can be found on MSF’s Facebook page, will have partial proceeds from their bill donated back to the foundation.  Silent auction and raffle items include: a custom fishing rod by HookItUp Tackle; a 6-hour fly fishing trip with Captain Paul Hobby; a full-day fishing charter our of Islamorada from Dautless Fishing Charters; a sunset cruise for 6 from Great Lady Charters; a full-day aboard the Tred Barta Swordfish Charter; Florida Gator football tickets; Premier Design Jewelry; a framed, matted & autographed South Cape map by Mark Herron and much more!

Military Support Foundation Inc. became a 501(c)(3) public charity because of the multiple layers of needs that exist. MSF started as a small group of people that shared the same passion to show support for deployed troops; and in 2014 made contact with a unit stationed in Kuwait and began sending them care packages until they arrived home. Since that time, they have supported many units with over 120 boxes full of what they like to call “A Little Bit of Home.” However, it is not just the deployed service members that need support, but also the family members left behind to handle the home front and the babies that are born without their father’s present.
