Please join us in congratulating our March 2022 “Do The Right Thing” recipients. These students exemplified what it means to “Do The Right Thing.”
Kaden Loring – 12th Grade, and Brody Loring – 10th Grade, North Fort Myers High School
While at Planet Fitness, Kaden and Brody were in the locker room when an elderly man fell off a bench and hit his head. Kaden acted quickly and went to the aid of the elderly man to monitor his state of consciousness, while his brother Brody ran to the front counter to have someone call 911.
Upon Brody’s return, both brothers remained with the man to make sure he didn’t injure himself further. Brody and Kayden stayed to assist until EMS arrived on scene and rendered aid.
Tatum Garrett – 8th Grade Diplomat Middle School
Tatum was home alone, unaware that the garage to her home was on fire until her neighbor came over and told her.
Tatum sprang into action and gathered several of her family pets and brought them to safety before CCFD arrived on scene and her parents were notified.
Jaxen Smith – 8th Grade Caloosa Middle School
Jaxen found a cell phone when he boarded the school bus. He realized it likely belonged to an elementary student, since they were the previous riders.
Jaxen was able to determine the owner of the cell phone and brought it to the front office.
Mia Najdovski– 9th Grade, Cape Coral High School
A friend of Mia’s contacted her via text stating, “Good-bye, this is the end.” Concerned for her friend’s well-being Mia notified a school staff member.
As a result of Mia’s action, the student was able to get the help that they needed.
Kaylee Wenrich– 8th Grade, Lee Virtual School
Kaylee is a friendly and caring individual who is always looking for ways to help out others and support them. Kaylee has helped individuals with disabilities, created holiday cards for nursing homes, and volunteers to help with her brother’s scouts.
Special thanks to all our sponsors who without their support this program would not be possible.
