Please join us in congratulating CCPD Master Corporal SRO Nicholas Slover on receiving the Chief’s Special Recognition Award, one of the Cape Coral Police Department’s highest honors.
From SRO Joe Zalenski’s nomination:
Serving as a fellow Honor Guard team leader, I have had a front-row seat to the effort, care, and detail SRO Slover puts into his work.
Recently this agency has endured the loss of recently retired officers. SRO Slover has extensive experience in representing our agency for more than 10 years at many LODD funerals nationwide. He brings that experience and knowledge of protocol and solemn pageantry home with him and ensures our agency formally, but also focuses intently on the recognition and respect befitting our departed officers. His ability to convey the agency’s appreciation and sense of loss by directing the Honor Guard brings comfort to those grieving and ensures those loved ones know the CCPD grieves with them, most recently at the funerals of Captain Urarro and Officer Post.
When Chief Sizemore prioritized the CCPD Honor Guard, SRO Slover took it to heart and made sure that departed members would be properly represented and honored. He has taken upon himself the responsibility of making each funeral detail as perfect as possible to bring credit to the agency, the Honor Guard, and most importantly the service and sacrifice of our departed members.
For this reason, SRO Slover received the Chief’s Special Recognition Award from Chief Anthony Sizemore.
