Thanksgiving Vehicle Burglar Caught in the Act Thanks to an Observant Neighbor

On November 22, 2018 around 8:38 AM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress.

The reporting person explained that he watched a B/M, wearing no shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and carrying a backpack entering his neighbors vehicles.

Officers quickly saturated the area. A Patrol Officer located Joshua Vaysean Christopher Clemons (B/M, DOB: 12/26/1998, of 9854 Bernwood Place Drive, Fort Myers.) He matched the description given by the witness.

The investigation revealed that Clemons had burglarized four different vehicles and took items from each. Numerous stolen items were located on Clemons and in his backpack. These items were later returned to the victims.

Clemons was arrested, taken to the Cape Coral Police Department for processing. He was then transferred to the Lee County Jail.

Clemons was charged with 4-counts of Burglary to a Vehicle, 4-counts of Petit Theft, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
