Cape Coral Police Detectives Catch Man Selling Fentanyl

On October 18, 2018, around 12:30 PM, Cape Coral Police arrested a man for sale and possession of Fentanyl.

Cape Coral Police VIN Detectives conducted two separate undercover operations where Mario Paul Aversano (W/M, DOB: 04/21/1979, of 3009 SW Santa Barbara PL) was observed selling Fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid approved by the FDA for use as a painkiller and anesthetic. Fentanyl is about 50-100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than many forms of heroin. As a result, it can be dangerous and deadly if misused especially when used illicitly.

Aversano sold Fentanyl both times within 1,000 feet of a school in Cape Coral.

Aversano was charged with 2-counts of Sale of Fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school and 2-counts of Possession of Fentanyl. He was transferred to the Lee County Jail.
