Arrest Made in Early Morning Homicide Investigation

A late night call about a disturbance turned violent led to the discovery of one man dead and the arrest of his roommate for second-degree murder.

On August 7th, 2018, at approximately 2:21 AM, Cape Coral Police responded to 1141 Van Loon Commons Circle # 103 in reference to a male claiming he had killed his roommate. Upon arrival, officers met with Cullen Scott Roe (DOB: 8-12-93), who turned himself in without incident. The officers found Roe’s roommate, Kody Scott Detling (DOB: 1-7-93) deceased as a result of knife wounds within the apartment. 

The next of kin HAS been notified. The Cape Coral Police Major Crimes Unit arrested Roe for 2nd Degree Murder. Roe was later transferred to the Lee County Jail.
