Man Intentionally Rams His Wife’s Car While She’s in it While He’s Drunk

A Man drives down the wrong side of the road drunk and rams his wife.

On April 5, 2018, the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the 4800 block of Manor Court in reference to a disturbance with injuries involving two cars. The disturbance was between husband and wife that had been separated for more than a year.

An investigation determined that Donny Ray Crecelius (W/M, DOB: 10/22/1957, of Cape Coral) was driving a pickup and followed the victim to her new address from her work. When she got to the house, he pulled into the driveway next to her. The victim backed out of the driveway and began to drive away when Donny blocked her car in the roadway and exited his vehicle.

Donnie got out of the truck, opened her driver’s door attempting to punch her but missed, then grabbed her arm trying to pull her out of the car. When he was unsuccessful getting her out of the car, Donnie got back in his truck, drove down the street, turned around and drove straight at the victim while traveling north in the southbound lanes of Manor Ct. The vehicles collided head-on.

The Cape Coral Police Department Major Crimes Unit and Traffic Unit began their investigation. The Major Crimes Unit arrested Donny Crecelius who received medical care at a local hospital and was later transferred to the Lee County Jail.

The Major Crash Investigator completed his investigation on June 30 and filed additional charges on Donny Crecelius when it was determined his Blood Alcohol Content was .210 mg/dL.

Donny Crecelius was charged with: Burglary with battery, Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, DUI with serious bodily injury, DUI with property damage (two counts), DUI with a BAC of .15 or higher.
