Ray and Tammy Gallant moved to Cape Coral 13 years ago. Originally from Montana, they had been in Ohio for a year before moving here.
“I married my best friend while he was still in the Navy Reserves,” said Tammy. Ray had already done 16 years of active duty, then finished up the last 5 in the reserves. At his retirement, Ray was the most decorated person in the building!
They came to Florida because Ray was offered a position with CenturyLink where he is an installation and repair technician. Ray helps Tammy as her photography assistant whenever he can. They have 2 daughters and a son, all currently residing in Montana. They also have 3 dogs: two 12-year-old Pomeranian brothers and a female 7-year-old German Shepherd who lives to play ball and frisbee.
Tammy started TS Gallant Photography back in 2004 in Billings, MT. She was regularly published in the Billings Gazette and was also featured in the Sports Car of American and the Yellowstone Region SCCA News.
“My love of cameras comes from my day,” said Tammy. “He bought me my first little 35mm film camera when I was 10.” The love of photography was something they had in common until his death last summer. Tammy always loved photography and after a lot of online encouragement by pros who though her work was good enough, she made the move from hobbyist to professional photographer. She has since been published in several newspapers and magazines around the world.
She now focuses primarily on portraiture, especially children from birth to 18. She offers not only traditional photography, using either natural or studio light, but she also offers compositing, utilizing chromakey technology. With portraiture, Tammy can photograph children, families, engagement sessions, pets, and corporate headshots. As a hobby, she pursues artistic photography, wildlife, and commercial photography.
“I’m hard-pressed to pick just one thing” about Cape Coral that makes it the best place to live, said Tammy. “It’s got everything, rural, urban, businesses around the corner one direction and secluded nature trails around the other. It’s got old-school charm and new age hop. It’s just pretty darned perfect!”
Tammy is a motorcycle enthusiast, owning 3 motorcycle and no cars or trucks. Tammy and Ray ride their motorcycles across the county every year, and do motorcycle charity runs whenever the schedule allows. “I really love working with the Rebel Riders and their missions,” Tammy declared. “They are known for their anti-bullying movement and suicide prevention. I am a strong supporter of any veteran cause.”
Tammy and Ray also do work as “Santa and Mrs. Claus.” (Look at the pictures and you’ll understand why!)
