Burglars Go “Window Shopping” For Black Friday, Arrested by Cape Coral Police

A pair of burglars stealing new windows from a home under construction were called in by an observant witness and quickly caught by Cape Coral Police.

On Friday, November 24, 2017, at approximately 8:15 p.m. a witness observed a suspicious pickup truck with its lights off at a home under construction at the 1300 block of SE 37th Terrace. The witness saw two males loading new wrapped windows into the bed of the truck. Upon noticing the witness the men sped away from the scene, losing 3 of the 6 stolen windows out of the open bed of the truck and causing them to shatter in the roadway.

The witness called the police and provided a license plate number for the truck, and officers located and stopped the truck at the 3800 block of Del Prado Boulevard South. The two men were detained and identified as Hector Brito Montes (DOB: 10-3-81) and Jeovanny Montes de Oca (DOB: 2-20-72). Further investigation led to the arrest of both men for burglary and grand theft, and both were transported to the Lee County Jail.
