Ring Camera Video Captures Suspects in Home Burglary!

On September 4, 2018, around 3:30 PM the Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service at the 1700 block of SE 1st Ter reference a residential burglary.

The victim reported that earlier in the afternoon she arrived home from work and found her residence ransacked. The victim reviewed the Ring Camera at the front door which captured the two suspects on video. One of the suspects had the key code for the front door and was able to make entry. 

While inside, the suspects were able to deactivate interior cameras and shut off the main electrical breaker. The Ring Camera at the front door was able to capture and save video of the suspects. The suspects kicked in the victim’s locked bedroom door and stole a diamond necklace valued at $600 and a white iPhone valued at $600 from the dresser.  The suspects caused damage to the bedroom door.  

An investigation by a Patrol Officer revealed that the suspects were identified as Ian Zachary Wiles-Krater and Austin Wesley King.

Wiles-Krater was located and arrested in the evening on September 12, 2018.

King was located and arrested in the morning on September 18, 2018.  

ARRESTED: Ian Zachary Wiles-Krater, W/M, 15 years old, of Cape Coral

CHARGES: Burglary, Grand Theft, and Criminal Mischief

ARRESTED: Austin Wesley King, W/M, 16 years old, of Cape Coral

CHARGES: Burglary, Grand Theft, and Criminal Mischief
