PACE Center for Girls, Lee County announces ‘FUNky Fashion Show,’ a Love That Dress! collection event

PACE Center for Girls, Lee County is putting the “fun” in funky with a FUNky Fashion Show collection event on June 20 at the Cape Coral Yacht Club.

The FUNky Fashion Show is presented by IBERIABANK.  It features one-of-a-kind pieces created by individuals and businesses made completely from recycled or repurposed items. This year’s featured designer is Marie C. Dyer, a local artist who has been featured in major publications and art galleries both locally and internationally.

Razzle Dazzle, a boutique shop in Cape Coral, also will provide ready-to-wear looks during the evening. Big Blue Brewing will furnish food and signature cocktails. Music will be provided by Robert McDonald of New Beginnings Events.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20 at Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5819 Driftwood Parkway in Cape Coral, and serves as one of PACE’s Love That Dress! signature collection events.

Tickets to the FUNky Fashion Show are $45 in advance or $50 at the door. Price includes food, a complimentary drink, and the fashion show. Tables of eight can be reserved in advance for $350. Anyone bringing a new or gently loved dress will be entered into a prize drawing. To purchase tickets, please visit LoveThatDress.org. Event sponsors include The Gunterberg Charitable Foundation, IBERIABANK, WastePro and Mike Patrick Electric.

Local eco-friendly fashionistas can also enter a dress in the FUNky Fashion Show. First place prizes, awarded in the categories of Runway Ready, People’s Choice and Funkiest Fashion, include two tickets to Love That Dress! and a $100 gift card. The fee to enter a dress is $75 and includes event admission.

PACE Center for Girls, Lee County is celebrating its 10th season of Love That Dress!, an annual campaign that solicits donations of new and gently loved dresses, handbags, shoes, and accessories. White House Black Market returns as the Title Sponsor. They will contribute hundreds of brand new items to the already expansive inventory, which will be sold at discounted prices, with all proceeds benefiting PACE programs and services.
