A woman spotted lurking around a recently burglarized home and who ran at the sight of officers was arrested for loitering and prowling, with a burglary investigation also ongoing.
On March 25 at approximately 9:45 pm officers responded to the 1300 block of NW 3rd Terrace for a suspicious person call. A caller stated her home had recently been burglarized, and she had now seen a woman walking through her backyard. The caller said she yelled at the woman, who answered she was only out for a walk. Officers searching the area located the woman, who ran at the sight of the patrol car into a yard. The officers located her hiding behind the water system of the home and identified her as Alexandra Carter (DOB: 8-31-89).
Carter could not dispel the officer’s fear that a crime was not being committed or about to be committed and could not provide any justifiable reason for being in the area or from attempting to hide from police. Carter’s vehicle was located and visible in plain sight were several items appearing to be from prior burglaries. A search warrant was requested for the vehicle, and that investigation is ongoing. Carter was placed under arrest for loitering and prowling and transported to the Lee County Jail.
ARRESTED: Alexandra Rimma Carter, W/F, DOB: 8-31-89, of 4030 Coronado Parkway #201, Cape Coral FL.
CHARGES: Loitering and Prowling
