Suspicious Vehicle in Park Leads to Arrest for Stolen Gun & Drugs

A CCPD Patrol officer’s discovery of a suspicious vehicle in a city park after dark led to a man’s arrest on stolen weapon and drug charges.

During the evening hours of February 12, 2018 a Cape Coral Police patrol officer located a suspicious vehicle at 170 SE 4th Terrace (Saratoga Lake Park), occupied by Aaron Johnson Jr. (DOB: 8-1-91).

A K-9 officer and his K-9 arrived as backup, and an open-air sniff of the vehicle alerted to the presence of narcotics. The subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of the drug MDMA or “Molly” as well as a stolen .40 Glock handgun, reported stolen out of Collier County in 2015.

Johnson was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, and use/display of a firearm during a felony. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
