The Cape Coral Police Department responded to a bank robbery this morning at Bank of the Ozarks located at 61 Hancock Bridge Parkway West.
On January 8, 2018 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Cape Coral Police patrol units responded to an alarm call at Bank of the Ozarks, located at 61 Hancock Bridge Parkway West. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. He was described as a white male, 5’10-6’ in height, 170-180lbs, 40-50 years of age with salt & pepper hair. The suspect was dressed in jeans, a black sweatshirt and had a Steelers baseball cap on, and also had what looked like cotton balls or gauze stuffed in his mouth. He passed a note to the teller demanding money and claiming to have a weapon, though no weapon was shown. He retrieved the note from the teller and left with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a dark blue Dodge Dakota, 4 door pickup with dark tinted windows.
