The City of Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating the grand reopening of Eagle Skate Park on Saturday, December 2 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The park is located at 315 SW 2nd Avenue, adjacent to the William Austen Youth Center. Celebration activities include a ribbon-cutting, opening remarks, free giveaways, and refreshments.
The park is reopening after the American Ramp Company created a custom design of the 27,000 sq. foot park, which is one of the largest skateparks in Southwest Florida. The state-of-the-art park features a six-foot-deep bowl with half pipe, radical launch ramps, hubbas, quarter-pipes, stairs and urban obstacles. The new solid steel design provides smooth transitions for speed and agility and is designed for all skill levels and abilities. The skatepark building also underwent recent improvements including a larger selection of pro shop gear, new seating, the addition of a 65-inch television and an expanded menu of hot food items.
The park is open seven days a week for skateboards, bikes, and scooters. Admission is $5 per person per session (100 person capacity) and $1 per person for spectators (50 person capacity). Helmets and parental/legal guardian consent are required prior to admission.
