Debris Drop-off Site To Be Open Weekends Only

Beginning October 30, the City’s residential debris drop-off site hours will be changing to allow residents to drop-off hurricane-related vegetative debris on Saturdays and Sunday only, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Currently, residents are allowed to drop-off vegetative debris seven days a week, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. The hours are being reduced due to the decrease in residential drop-offs and the increase in non-hurricane related debris that is being brought to the site.

Residents who do not want to wait for the debris haulers are encouraged to use the drop-off site that is located near Pine Island Road and Andalusia Boulevard.  Access to the site is from NE 7th Street to NE 10th Avenue.

Only vegetative debris that was left behind from Hurricane Irma can be accepted at the site. Commercial or lawn maintenance contractors shall not be permitted to use the drop-off site and will be required to use their normal means for debris disposal. Proof of Cape Coral residency is required (e.g. driver’s license, utility bill, etc.). There is no charge to use the site.

It is estimated that almost 60% of the debris in the City has been picked up. Tag Grinding has approximately 30 crews picking up debris in the City seven days a week, twelve hours a day.

Additional hurricane-related information can be found on the City’s website at www.capecoral.net under “Post Irma Information”.
