Cape Coral Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital last night.
Just before midnight, Cape Coral Police responded to a shooting at 1080 Hancock Creek South Boulevard. Officers arrived and found an 18-year old black male lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his left hip. The victim stated that he and his friend were walking southbound on Hancock Creek Boulevard South when a dark-colored sedan passed them northbound and somebody from within the vehicle shot him.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Investigative Services Bureau Major Crimes Unit detective responded and took over the investigation. Cape Coral Police Department Forensics processed the scene.
