Center was damaged in hurricane & will also need roof repairs & two new A/C units
Since Hurricane Irma, the number of families seeking daily assistance from the Cape Coral Caring Center has more than tripled. The Caring Center serves as a food pantry for those in need. Executive Director Julie Ferguson suspended the Center’s regular rules in order to help as many families as possible that were affected by Hurricane Irma.
The concern is that supplies will run out, and that plans to feed 600+ families over the holidays could be impacted because that food is being used now. On Monday, the City of Cape Coral generously opened City Hall and eight fire stations as drop-off sites for non-perishable food and supplies.
