The Cape Coral Police Department is in the process of applying for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program FY 2017 local solicitation through the U.S. Department of Justice.
One of the requirements of the grant is that the governing body as well as the public is notified prior to the submission of the grant. Only eligible units of government listed on the U.S. Department of Justice website are able to apply for funding.
The City of Cape Coral is eligible to receive $15,562, to be used during Fiscal Year 2018.
The Justice Assistance Grant Program provides critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas, including law enforcement. Funds may be used for local initiatives that will improve or enhance law enforcement programs and services.
