Cape Coral PD VIN Unit Hits Home of Drug Dealer Selling Near School

The Cape Coral Police Department’s Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics (VIN) Unit along with the SWAT team served a warrant yesterday on a drug dealer who was selling within 1,000 feet of a school.

The VIN Unit obtained the warrant for the residence located at 214 SW 31st Street after conducting undercover buys of marijuana. During the warrant service on August 9th, Matthew DeLeon (DOB: 12-18-98) was placed under arrest for several drug-related charges. Marijuana, cocaine, THC edibles, and cash were all found in the home. There was also evidence that DeLeon attempted to flush some marijuana down the toilet, resulting in an additional destruction of evidence charge. 

DeLeon was transported to the Lee County Jail.

CHARGES: Sale of Marijuana <1000ft from School, Possession of Marijuana <20grams, Possession of Vehicle to Sell Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell & Within 1000ft of Park, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Controlled Substance w/out Prescription (THC edibles), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Destruction of Evidence
