City Council Employs Ilczyszyn as Cape Coral City Manager

Cape Coral City Council employed Michael Ilczyszyn as City Manager at a City Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. As City Manager, Ilczyszyn will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of the City of Cape Coral.

Ilczyszyn is available for media interviews at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 21, at City Hall, 1015 Cultural Park Blvd. Please RSVP to Kaitlyn Mullen at kmullen@capecoral.gov.

Michael Ilczyszyn was appointed as Interim City Manager in February of 2023 and previously held the role of Public Works Director. He began his career with the City in 2002 as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. He was promoted to Business Manager within the Public Works Department before moving into the City Manager’s Office as the Business Manager for the City.

Mr. Ilczyszyn is a Mariner High School graduate with a Magna Cum Laude in Environmental Studies and a master’s in Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. Ilczyszyn is a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Yorktown.
