To commemorate the anniversary of Hurricane Ian, the City of Cape Coral is hosting the “Cape Coral Together: Resilience Rally” on Friday, Sept. 29, from 6-10 p.m. at the German American Social Club, 2101 SW Pine Island Road.
The City invites our community members to come together in solidarity to remember the challenges we overcame during Ian, to honor the struggles many of us still face, and to celebrate the strides in recovery we’ve made.
The event also aims to help restock the shelves of local non-profit organizations whose resources were depleted after Hurricane Ian. In place of an entry fee, attendees are encouraged to bring donation items such as non-perishable food, pet supplies, and safety gear. Participants will be given one raffle ticket for each donation item they bring. To view a list of requested supplies, click here.
The Resilience Rally will also feature food trucks and live music from Deep Cover at 6 p.m. and Deb & the Dynamics at 7:15 p.m. Both bands are local and also weathered the impacts of Hurricane Ian. Country singer Taylor Goyette will be taking the stage at 8:45 p.m.
Benefitting organizations include the Cape Coral Caring Center, Cape Coral Animal Shelter & Veterinary Clinic, Faith Generation, Order of the Purple Heart, Cape Vineyard Community Church, and Kiwanis.
