Three teenagers were arrested and three stolen vehicles recovered after one of the victims received information on the whereabouts of his vehicle on Facebook and relayed the information to Cape Coral Police.
On the morning of March 13th, 2018 the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the Heatherwood Lakes community after two vehicles were reported stolen with others entered and burglarized. Detectives with the Property Crime Unit investigated these cases.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. CCPD received a call from one of the grand theft auto victims. The victim said he had received a Facebook message from someone who had seen his vehicle at Walmart located at 1980 NE Pine Island Road. An officer was dispatched to that location, and the officer immediately located the stolen vehicle behind the Walmart unoccupied. He then canvassed the front parking lot and located two additional vehicles the officer knew were listed stolen, one from Heatherwood Lakes and another which had been reported stolen on March 12th.
One of these vehicles was occupied by three teenagers, who were all detained. Further investigation led to the arrest of these three teens for grand theft auto, vehicle burglary, and several additional charges. The teens, Dysean Bryant (DOB: 11-21-00); Jaheim Lovett (DOB: 10-2-01); and Darian Gaphoor (DOB: 8-3-01) were all transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
