Please join us in congratulating the Cape Coral Police Department SWAT team’s 1st place finish in the 14th Annual Region VI SWAT Competition which was held at the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office gun range in Sebring on September 17th.
Twelve teams which included Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Collier CERT, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Sarasota Police Department, Bradenton Police Department, Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, and two Highlands County Sheriff’s Office teams, competed in 4 tactical events and a grueling obstacle course.
A select group of Cape Coral Police Department SWAT operators had been doing additional training for about 6 weeks prior this event which paid off with consistent high placement in each of the 5 stages, putting them several points ahead of the next closest team.
