Lee County Domestic Animal Services, together with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Animal Cruelty Task Force, will celebrate Deputy Chance’s fourth “Gotcha Day” with a party on Thursday, March 10.
From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., visitors to Animal Services, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, have the opportunity to meet Deputy Chance, enter to win prizes and meet great shelter pets.
Many animals end up in shelters in need of homes as a result of neglect. LCSO member and ACTF Ambassador Deputy Chance is an example of how giving shelter pets a new “leash” on life can be rewarding. Deputy Chance is a formerly abused and abandoned dog deputized by Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
Give all shelter pets a “Chance.” Adopt, don’t shop.
In honor of Deputy Chance, Lee County Domestic Animal Services will be reducing adoption fees to $25 from March 1 through March 31 with an approved application.
The adoption package includes spay or neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, county license and a 10-day health guarantee. This is a $500 package. Visit 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the adoption center, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers.
