Presenting “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” on Feb. 13

Prepare for an afternoon of romance, show tunes, and rousing marches on February 13 as Lee County Community Band presents Let Me Call You Sweetheart. The concert is set for 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School.

Under the direction of Richard Bradstreet, the band will perform Sousa’s Black Horse Troop; Hoagie Carmichael favorites, including The Nearness of You and Stardust; the theme from the movie The Cowboys, by John Williams; Highlights from Fiddler on the Roof; and Leroy Anderson’swhimsical piece, The Typewriter.

The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, beginning at 3 p.m. The concerts are free (donations welcome) and open to the public. Additional concert dates are March 13 and April 10, 2022

A legend in Southwest Florida, the 60-member adult band is comprised of career and amateur musicians and welcomes new members every year. Persons interested in joining may phone Frances Pace at 239-691-3115.
