Keep An Eye Out For Manatees

Manatee mating season begins in the Spring and lasts through Summer. If you see a large group of manatee in shallow water that appear to be herding or thrashing, they are most likely mating and not in distress. You should keep your distance.

Manatee are very powerful and can become aggressive while mating. Manatee have been seen recently at the Rosen Park Boat Ramp.

If you believe a manatee is in distress or injured, please contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. https://myfwc.com

We ask that all boaters please be aware that manatee will be mating and to obey the no wake zone requirements.
