The “Do The Right Thing” Program recognizes students who have done the “Right Thing”.
Sophia Fortune is a fourth grade student at Diplomat Elementary School. While Sophia was talking to a friend on the phone, her friend told her that she wanted to harm herself. Sophia told her mother about the conversation. Sophia’s mother contacted her friend’s mother and told her about the conversation.
Sophia’s friend received the help she needed. Had Sophia not told her mother about her friend’s thoughts, the result could have been tragic.
It is because of Sophia’s bravery and compassion for her friend that she received the Do The Right Thing Award and the Lifesaving Award.
Great Job Sophia!!!
